You Need Security Knowledge – Enterprise Connect 2025 Has It

Communications systems have never carried more of the enterprise’s critical data than they do today, and this reality will only continue to grow, partly thanks to the rise of AI. It’s now a given that every technology advance will increase the security risk faced by communications pros, who for example had to learn new governance and security requirements as communications modes such as instant messaging and videoconferencing became ubiquitous. After all, everything contained in such communications is enterprise data, which has to be protected, stored (or not), and made available according to policies. Now as AI assistants create meeting summaries, transcripts, and even translations, those elements too will be enterprise data, and will have to be protected.
And of course the communications infrastructure now supports contact centers that deal with more customer data and interaction than ever before. And here again, AI-driven applications are poised to alter the way enterprises interact with customers, contact center agents, and the data that drives these transactions.
All of these areas are potential targets for hackers, and potential attack vectors into the enterprise. Enterprises need a sense of urgency when it comes to security and compliance around communications, collaboration platforms, and CX systems.
That’s why Enterprise Connect 2025 features our largest Security/Compliance track ever, with a wealth of deep information to help communications/collaboration/CX tech pros understand how better to keep their enterprises safe.
We’re leading off with a couple of sessions aimed at helping you get a complete grounding in security. On Monday, March 17, Scott Murphy and Richard Yarde, security experts at consultancy Data Perceptions, will lead a half-day Training, Top 10 Cybersecurity Best Practices for Modern Communications Systems, in which they’ll use U.S. government security requirements as a model for any enterprise to follow in protecting communications systems. On Tuesday, March 19, they’ll offer a 30-minute synopsis on cybersecurity essentials.
To supplement these basics, Irwin Lazar of Metrigy will lead a session on Overcoming Security and Compliance Challenges in Generative AI, expanding on how the new generation of AI-based applications create (and potentially help solve) security issues.
We’ve also got sessions that focus on some of the critical issues impacting the contact center. Security expert Sorell Slaymaker of Tech Vision Research will lead a session on a topic where we continue to see growing interest: Protecting communications and customer data as they flow through the contact center. Enterprises are also grappling with challenges when it comes to outbound communications, as customers, overwhelmed by spam calls and texts, increasingly ignore or block communications to their mobile phones. We’ll feature a session on how enterprises are attempting to establish greater trust so that these often-critical communications get through.
I’m also expecting security to be one of the main topics we address when I sit down with four enterprise IT/communications leaders on the keynote stage Tuesday morning, March 18, for a wide-ranging strategic discussion about the direction of the industry. In preliminary conversations with the panelists, security has come up as an issue that all are saying they spend more time on now than ever before.
So if security is high on your list of concerns as an enterprise communications/collaboration/CX leader—and hopefully it is—Enterprise Connect 2025 in Orlando, FL the week of March 17 is the place to be. Of course in addition to security, we’ll be tackling all the other critical issues – AI, cloud implementations, CX strategies, video, forward-looking strategy, and much more. I hope you can join me at the Gaylord Palms hotel March 17 – 20 for the best week of learning, information-sharing, and networking in the industry. Our best rates are available, so sign up now!
